Macon Trax News Release

[Macon, Ga.]—It has been a couple of years since Macon and Columbus have squared off on the ice. On Saturday, October 30, the rivalry will be renewed at the Columbus Civic Center.

To celebrate this event the Trax would like to bring all the hockey fans from Macon, Warner Robins, Milledgeville, Perry and surrounding communities to the game with ticket and bus specials. The Trax have offered the fans from Columbus a "Snake Pack" for all games at the Centreplex. In return the Trax staff and fans were hoping the Cottonmouths would have a Trax pack for the Macon visits. Unfortunately, the rivals from the West refused to grant our fans special discounts.

The Macon Trax and the CaBoosters have taken it upon themselves to make sure our great fans of Middle Georgia can go to the game at the Civic Center for a very low price. Fans have two options for the game on the 29th:

1) Single tickets can be purchased in the Trax section for $8 per person.

2) Tickets and transportation to the game on a coach bus can be purchased for $25 per person.

"If our rivals do not want to offer our fans a special similar to the one we are offering their fans that is fine." said General Manager Joe Suk, "I know our fans are excited to see Columbus again and it should be a fun year with them in the league."

All tickets for the game and bus must be purchased at the Trax office by October 25. All questions should be directed to Ticket Manager Heather Swartz at 478-742-4849 ext. 1 or hswartz@macontrax.com.

"I know if our players hear fans supporting them on the road it just adds an extra boost throughout the game." said Head Coach Tommy Stewart, "I would love to see a thousand fans travel to that building and support the boys."

The Trax begin their 2004-05 season with a six game road trip on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30 in Huntsville and Columbus respectively. The Trax will debut on home ice Saturday, Nov. 20 against the Columbus Cottonmouths at 7:05 pm. Check the Trax website at www.macontrax.com for a complete schedule.

Make sure to reserve your season tickets and single game tickets for the 2004-05 season. The Trax open their home schedule on November 20 against the Columbus Cottonmouths. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Trax office at (478) 742-4849. Season tickets start as low as $99 and single game tickets are only $6.
