[Macon, Ga.]—The Trax roster has added a returning defenseman and a new center to the roster. Art Mnatsakanov has been signed to a three game tryout while Chris Duggan was inked to a contract.

Mnatsakanov returns to the Trax where he had a stellar rookie season. The Detroit area native spent the beginning of the season with the Motor City Mechanics of the United Hockey League.

“Artey was one of the most improved players that we had last year.” said Head Coach Tommy Stewart, “I am counting on him to help teach our rookies the defensive system we have in place.”

With steady improvement and tough play, Mnatsakanov became a fan favorite in Macon over his rookie season. The 5’11”, 230-pounder played in 55 games scoring 27 points (4G, 23A) with 122 penalty minutes and a +10 rating.

Also making his debut will be center Chris Duggan. Duggan played most of last season with the Lubbock Cotton Kings of the Central Hockey League. In 60 games he had 33 points (11G, 22A) and 55 penalty minutes.

Duggan comes to the Trax with a friend in the locker room. David Deeves played his collegiate hockey with Duggan at Canisius College. The 6Â’ 185-pound, Woodville, Ont. will assume the middle spot on the Trax third line.

“Chris is a highly skilled player and comes with great respect from David.” said Stewart, “He led his college team in scoring two years, while Deeves led the other two.”

To make room on the roster the Trax have released Alex Thymaras. The rookie forward in three games registering two assists.

This weekend the Trax will travel to Asheville for the first time ever. The Aces and Trax will face off Friday, Nov. 12 at the Asheville Civic Center at 7:30pm. Saturday night Macon will return to face Huntsville for an 8:30pm face off. All games can be heard on Talk Radio 1670 WMWR, with pre-game starting 15 minutes before face off. Make sure to reserve your season tickets and single game tickets for the 2004-05 season. The Trax open their home schedule on November 20 against the Columbus Cottonmouths. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Trax office at (478) 742-4849. Season tickets start as low as $99 and single game tickets are only $6.
