TRAVERSE CITY, MI - The Traverse City Beach Bums are proud to announce their 2018 schedule, for their thirteenth season in the Cherry Capital of the World.
The Beach Bums will start the season, in Normal, IL, against the Cornbelters, on Friday, May 11th, as part of a nine game road trip. The 2018 home opener will actually be a doubleheader against the defending West Division champion, Florence Freedom, on Wednesday, May 23rd. In fact, new for 2018, the Beach Bums will feature seven special Wednesday doubleheaders throughout the season.
Other highlights of the 2018 schedule include: Two series' against the Frontier League Champion Schaumburg Boomers on July 13-15 and August 8-9, the Some Gave All Memorial Day Game on May 27th against the Evansville Otters, and our 13th Annual Welcome Home Celebration on the Fourth of July, against the Southern Illinois Miners. More promotions and special events, along with game times, will be announced throughout the offseason.
The 2018 All-Star events will be held at CarShield Field in O'Fallon, MO, home of the River City Rascals, from Monday, July 9th to Wednesday July 11th On the road, including the season-opening stretch, the Beach Bums will have a total of three, season-long, nine game road trips. The longest home-stand will also be nine games long, from July 3rd to July 15th, interrupted by the All-Star Break.
The Beach Bums close the season with six games at home against the Joliet Slammers and Windy City Thunderbolts from August 29th to September 2nd. The Frontier League playoffs begin on September 4th and is scheduled to be completed no later than September 17th. The entire 2018 Beach Bums schedule is listed below.
