DANBURY, CT-They're Back! The Danbury Trashers, proud members of the United Hockey League, will take part in their home opener on Friday October 28th at 7:30pm against the Elmira Jackals at the Danbury Ice Arena in Danbury, CT.

Following a 1-0-1 week in Michigan in a pair of shootouts, the Trashers will return home for their first regular season game as new head coach and former Hartford Whalers star Paul Gillis looks to bring the Colonial Cup to Danbury this season.

All fans on Friday night will receive a 2005-06 Trashers magnetic schedule courtesy of Spring Hill Suites, while the Trashers are auctioning off last year's game used jerseys from 6:30pm until the end of the first period in a silent auction format. Fans must be present at the game to participate in the silent auction.

However, for those unable to make the game, or for those who want to ensure that they get a jersey, you can call Brianne Tompkins at the Trashers ticket office at 866-565-PUCK, ext. 116 to inquire about which jerseys are available and the special "Buy It Now" price for the jersey you wish to purchase. Brianne will be able to take your order over the phone to ensure that you receive your game-used jersey before Friday's auction.

Meanwhile, in an effort to help maintain an adequate blood supply for Connecticut hospital patients, the Danbury Trashers Hockey Team is sponsoring its first blood drive at the Danbury Ice Arena on Sunday, October 30th from 10:00 am to 2:45 pm. All presenting donors will receive a "buy one ticket, get one free" coupon good for a Trashers' home game and also be eligible to enter a drawing for a four-pack of tickets for a Trashers' home game. Donors may sign up for an appointment at Friday's game or volunteer in-person on Sunday. The Trashers will also host the Roanoke Valley Vipers on Sunday at 7pm at the Danbury Ice Arena.

Single-game tickets for the 2005-06 season are just $16.50 for premium seating and $14.00 for reserved seating and are now on sale. Tickets are available in-person at the Danbury Ice Arena every day from 10am-5pm and on Wednesday's from 10am-8pm or anytime at DanburyTrashers.com.
