
Trashers crush Frostbite 5-1

DANBURY, CT--Alex Goupil netted his 9th and 10th goals of the season, while Sly Daigle stopped 32 of 33 shots as the Trashers jumped out to a nearly insurmountable 5-1 lead by the early stages of the 3rd period and finished with a 5-1 win before 2,601 at the Danbury Ice Arena.
It was a scoreless first period until Danbury went on the power play at the 16:00 mark of the first period as David Hymovitz netted the first of two Trashers goals to take a 1-0 lead. Just 15 seconds later the Trashers scored again as Drew Omicioli scored to give the Trashers a 2-0 lead.
Danbury scored twice again in quick succession in the second period as Mike Omicioli and Alex Goupil netted goals just 1:10 apart as the Trashers carried a 4-0 lead into the dressing room. Goupil scored unassisted early in the third as the Frostbite finally scored late on a goal by Hugo Belanger, his seventh of the season.
Daigle improved his record to 7-5-1, while Tebbs suffered his 3rd loss of the season, all against Danbury, following a 33 save performance.
