Trashers clinch first UHL division title

DANBURY, CT-The Danbury Trashers, proud members of the United Hockey League (UHL), are proud to announce that they have clinched their first ever UHL division title and will be hosting the first two games of the opening round of the Colonial Cup Playoffs on Friday April 21st and Saturday April 22nd at the Danbury Ice Arena starting at 7:30pm.

Playoff tickets are $20 each and will be available to all fans for the first two home playoff games. They may be purchased in person at the Danbury Ice Arena during team store hours, by calling 866-565-PUCK or online at DanburyTrashers.com.

Danbury's division title became a reality following Adirondack's loss to the Muskegon Fury on Tuesday April 11th, mathematically eliminating them from any chance at the division title that they held last season. As a result, the Trashers are guaranteed home ice advantage during the opening round of the playoffs against a still to be determined playoff opponent.

Heading into the final weekend of the regular season, the Trashers can finish with the second overall seed by winning both games in Roanoke on Friday and Saturday night, or by a combination of Danbury wins and Rockford losses that total four points. Rockford will host Flint and Muskegon this Friday and Saturday. Additionally, three teams are still in the hunt for the final two playoff spots (Motor City, Quad City, Richmond), while the final three seeds of the opening round are still in doubt heading into this weekend.

Season tickets for the 2006-07 campaign are also currently on sale starting on Wednesday at 10am. Season tickets are priced at a special discount of $494 ($13/game reserved) and $570 ($15/game premium) when purchased prior to August 31st. Purchasing season tickets now also allows fans to buy the entire run of 2006 Colonial Cup Playoff games (12 total). Any portion of non-played playoff games will be used towards their balance on next year's season tickets.
