
IceHogs announce first two playoff dates

Rockford, Ill.- For the first time in Rockford IceHogs history, the United Hockey League club will have home-ice advantage for a round in the postseason. The IceHogs announced on Wednesday the first two dates for the First Round of the 2006 Colonial Cup Playoffs. The opponent is yet to be determined.
The IceHogs will open the postseason with Game One at the Rockford MetroCentre on Friday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. The first 1,000 fans to the game on Friday will receive the final IceHogs poster in a series of seven courtesy of Medicine Man, Johnson Press, Jim Orlando Photography, Pepsi, Rockford Register Star and 23WIFR. Game Two will then follow on Sunday, April 23 at the MetroCentre at 5:05 p.m. Individual game tickets are on sale now at the MetroCentre Box Office for the playoffs and can be purchased by calling (815) 968-5222 or by logging on to centreevents.com.
Depending on the opponent, the first round playoff structure will have Rockford playing the first two games at home, Games Three and Four on the road, then if necessary, Games Five and Seven at the MetroCentre and Game Six back on the road. All Colonial Cup Playoff series are best-of-seven series. The IceHogs are expected to announce its remaining First Round Playoff schedule on Monday, April 17.

Next Home Game: Friday, April 14 vs. Flint Generals. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Rockford begins the final week of the 2005-06 regular season with a contest against the Flint Generals at the Rockford MetroCentre. The first 1,000 fans to the game will receive IceHogs Poster #6 in a series of seven, courtesy of Medicine Man, Johnson Press, Jim Orlando Photography, Pepsi and the Rockford Register Star.
Saturday, April 15 vs. Muskegon Fury. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. The final regular season game of the season for Rockford as the Fury return to Rockford. It's Fan Appreciation Day with the IceHogs on Saturday and the Hogs will present the 2005-06 Season Awards prior to face-off.
