DANBURY, CTâAfter building up a 3-0 lead only to drop the next two playoff games to Adirondack, the Trashers finally rebounded to dump the Frostbite 4-1 on Sunday at the Danbury Ice Arena, giving Danbury a 4-2 series win and a date in the Colonial Cup Semifinals against an opponent that will be determined on Tuesday night.
The Trashers need to await the ending of the Muskegon/Quad City series, which will climax on Tuesday night with their game seven. The Mallards sent the series to a seventh game after a win over the defending Colonial Cup champions on Sunday. If the Mallards win, the Trashers will face Rockford in the semifinals, while the Trashers will face Muskegon if they win on their home ice tomorrow night.
Regardless of the Trashers opponent, Danbury will host games three and four of the semifinal series along with game five if necessary. TRASHERS RETURN HOME TO MELT THE FROSTBITE--WIN 4-1 AND ADVANCE TO SEMIFINAL ROUND OF UHL PLAYOFFS

DANBURY, CT--On paper it was game six, but in the Trashers hearts it was game seven as the Trashers dominated Adirondack before 2,215 fans at the Danbury Ice Arena on Sunday night to win the series after a 4-1 victory.
Following a scoreless first period, the Trashers opened the scoring as JF David took a perfect pass from Jeff Daw at the 6:11 mark of the second period. Just 1:25 later, Bruce Richardson scored unassisted as the Trashers took a 2-0 lead into the 3rd period after they outshot Adirondack 31-7 over the first 40 minutes.
Mario Larocque's second playoff goal opened the Trasher scoring in the 3rd period at the 3:37 mark to give the Trashers a 3-0 lead before Adirondack rebounded with a Sly Cloutier power play goal at 7:25 to cut the Danbury lead back to two goals.
Danbury played a physical game and stepped it up a notch in the final half of the 3rd period, eventually scoring an empty net goal as Geno Parrish cleared the puck across the ice to seal the series.
Kris Tebbs faced 35 shots and stopped 32 while Scott Stirling allowed only one goal in 15 shots faced.
TRASHERS DROP SECOND STRAIGHT PLAYOFF GAME--RETURN HOME FOR SUNDAY'S GAME SIX AT THE DANBURY ICE ARENA

DANBURY, CT--The Adirondack Frostbite stayed alive for another night, as they defeated the Danbury Trashers 4-2 at the Glens Falls Civic Center on Saturday night. Two power play goals from the Frostbite returned the series to Danbury for Game 5 on Sunday afternoon at 5:30pm at the Danbury Ice Arena.
After a scoreless period with just five minor penalties, Ryan Bennett put Adirondack up 1-0 with his first of the playoffs, assisted by Sylvain Cloutier and David Burgess at 3:58. With David Vychodil in the box, J.F. David netted his first of the post-season at 4:31, the helper awarded to Jeff Daw. Scott Drevitch added his third power-play goal of the series at 6:28 to give the Frostbite the 2-1 lead. Hugo Belanger and Justin Kelly got the assists.
Danbury's Johnathan Gagnon was whistled for hooking at 4:54, and David Burgess scored the second of Adirodack's two power play goals at 6:13, assisted by Kelly and Drevitch to make it a 3-1 game. The Trashers responded at 14:58, as Michael Rupp netted his first of the post-season, from Christiansen and Daw. Fifteen seconds later, Adirondack's Kelly returned the Frostbite's two-goal cushion with his second of the playoffs, assisted by Drevitch.
FROSTBITE AVOID ELIMINATION WITH 8-2 OVER TRASHERS

DANBURY, CT--Adirondack tallied five power play goals in seven chances as the man-advantage proved to be fruitful for the Frostbite in front of a sold out Danbury Ice Arena in an 8-2 win on Saturday night.
Despite the Trashers gaining an early lead on a John Morlang goal, the Frostbite battled back from the brink of elimination as they tallied three first period goals and never looked back.
Bob Rapoza finished with four points on one goal, while David Burgess and Scott Drevitch each netted a pair of goals. Hugo Belanger, Greg Koehler and Trevor Segstro also scored for the Frostbite.
Kris Tebbs made his first playoff start and was solid in stopping 27 of 29 shots. Scott Stirling was off his game as he only stopped 20 of 27 shots before he gave way to Ryan McIntosh, who stopped two of three shots faced.
TRASHERS BLOW OUT ADIRONDACK TO TAKE 3-0 LEAD IN PLAYOFF SERIES

The Danbury Trashers pinned six goals on the board to take a commanding 3-0 series lead of the Adirondack Frostbite, with a 6-1 at the Danbury Ice Arena in front of a crowd of 2,686. Mike Bayrack notched two goals to up his playoff total to three, and netminder Scott Stirling turned aside 36-of-37 shots faced.
Bayrack's first of the game came at the 5:31 mark of the opening frame as he put the puck top shelf past Frostbite goalie Derek Gustafson. Seven minutes later, he scored again, as he put a second shot over Gustafson's shoulder. Bayrack's linemates, Michael Rupp and Bruce Richardson assisted on both of the goals. The two teams combined for six minor penalties, and the Adirondack bench minor at 18:41 and the Geno Parrish's tripping penalty at 19:42 carried over to the second period.
Jonathan Gagnon added to his playoff goal tally that he started scoring a triple OT game winner in Adirondack when he scored 2:26 into the second period, assisted by Jay Murphy and Francis Belanger. Justin Kelly scored his first of the playoffs at 4:17, with the only shot that would get past Danbury's Stirling all night. Frank Bakrlik and Scott Drevitch got the helpers on the Kelly goal. Belanger added his first playoff goal to boost the Trashers' lead to 4-1 heading into the final period.
The fifth Danbury goal was Doug Christiansen's first of the post season, assisted by Nicholas Bilotto and Jeff Daw at 4:09. Christiansen promptly served two minutes for elbowing at 4:09. Sylvain Cloutier joined Cody McLeod in the Adirondack penalty box, Mario Larocque scored on the 5-on-3 to make the game a 6-1 final. Before the final buzzer, the game was interrupted by a pair of fights, as the Trashers' Jeff State and Michael Rupp, as well as the Frostbites' Scott Page and McLeod all receieved fighting majors.
Danbury's Larocque scored the only power play goal of the night, the Trashers going 1-for-9, Adirondack, 0-for-7. The two teams meet up again Friday night for game four of the series, at the Danbury Ice Arena.
