Bacon Bits:

The IceHogs won their first ever post-season series on Saturday night, when they topped Kalamazoo 4-3 in overtime. The win was also the Hogs first ever overtime win.

Winger Brandon Segal paced all UHL skaters in the first round with eight goals. Segal (8g-2a) and center Alex Kim (2g-8a-10pts) also lead the UHL with 10 points.

Segal also had three multi-goal games in the six games played in the first round. Also, five of Segal's eight goals were scored on the special teams (four-power play; one-short-handed).

After beginning the series against Kalamazoo 0-for-12 on the power play, the IceHogs finished the final four games 7-for-29 (24.1%).

Defenseman Nathan Lutz (2g-5a-7pts) has a point in each of his last four games, tying the franchise record set by Segal earlier in the series.

Rockford will play either the Fort Wayne Komets or Danbury Trashers in the UHL's Colonial Cup Semi-Finals. If the Muskegon Fury top the Quad City Mallards on Tuesday, Rockford will play Fort Wayne. If the Mallards win, the Hogs will play Danbury.

Winger's Terry Harrison and Bruce Watson each had one point in the first round for the Hogs. The timing was good, as Watson set up Harrison for the game clinching goal in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Wings.

IceHogs goalie Michel Robinson, who once again re-wrote Rockford's record book, this time for the post-season, leads the UHL with 218 saves and made at least 31 saves in each of the six first round games.

Upcoming Games:

The IceHogs will announce their Colonial Cup Playoffs Semi-Finals schedule on Wednesday, April 27. Opponent will be either the Fort Wayne Komets or Danbury Trashers.
