
Fort Wayne's Troy Neumeier named UHL's Best Defenseman

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Monday that Fort Wayne Komets defenseman Troy Neumeier has been named the 2004-05 UHL Best Defenseman as selected by the league head coaches, general managers, and members of the media.
The 34-year-old native of Langenburg, Saskatchewan led the UHL with a plus-47 rating. He tallied 23 points (7g, 16a), including one shorthanded goal and one game-winning goal, in 78 games played this season.
Neumeier is playing his four season with Fort Wayne and 15th professional season overall. It is the third consecutive season that a member of the Fort Wayne Komets was selected as the UHL Best Defenseman (Kelly Perrault 2002-03, 2003-04).
