Edmonton Capitals News Release
The race is on! The final week and a half of North American League regular season play is upon us and the Caps are in a battle with the provincial rival Calgary Vipers for first place in the North Division. The teams will almost certainly square off in the division championship, so the Caps are looking to secure as many wins as possible down the stretch and capture the regular season title with home-field advantage.
The playoff drive continues Thursday through Sunday in Edmonton as the Caps host the Chico Outlaws for a four-game series, and the weather looks great! Heading into Thursday's series opener, the Caps have a 47-29 record and trail the 47-26 Vipers by 1.5 games in the division standings.
Thirsty Thursday
Thursday's series opener at 7pm is another edition of Thirsty Thursdays presented by Hudsons Canadian Tap House, 100.3 The Bear and Virgin Radio, with beer on special for just $3. It's the second last Thirsty Thursday of the season, so make sure you get out to the ballpark and enjoy this delicious new special.
Trappers Night & Captain Tractor
Friday's 7pm game will be a memorable night at the ballpark as it's Trappers Night in honour of the city's former Triple-A baseball team. The Caps will play in retro Trappers jerseys and hats, which will then be auctioned off after the game.
Also, fans who come to the game dressed in Trappers clothing or bring along Trappers souvenir collectibles will be able to purchase two tickets for the price of one. And there will also be national anthems and a free post-game concert performed by Edmonton folk rock legends Captain Tractor.
Superhero Night & Saturday Night Movie
The exciting weekend continues with Saturday's 7pm game, which is Superhero Night. Fans are encouraged to dress as their favourite superheroes for a chance to win prizes. It's also another edition of Saturday Night Movies presented by Herbers Autobody Repair and 96.3 Capital FM, as we'll be showing The Dark Knight on our inflatable big screen after the game.
