Montreal Alouettes News Release
Sherbrooke, June 15, 2013 - The Montreal Alouettes returned on Coulter Field at Bishop's University for the first time since Thursday night's pre-season game on Saturday morning.
Saturday marked the last time that the players would go on field for two practices on the same day during the 2013 training camp, which got a rise out of them following practice.
Players saved the best for last on Saturday, as they wore full pads for the second practice of the day. A good chunk of the first practice was dedicated to special teams.
Rookie defensive back Kendric Burney had a good day of practice, making two interceptions. Linebacker Nicolas Boulay took some reps with the first defensive unit. Slotback Jamel Richardson started where he left off in Thursday's game, making one catch after another during both practices.
Rookie running back Steven Lumbala made a nice play where he gained around 15 yards after hauling in a catch. Had it not been for linebacker Kyries Hebert's speed while pursuing him to the sideline, he would have gained at least another ten yards.
Receiver David Clowney, who left Thursday's game on a stretcher, watched his teammates practice from the sidelines.
