2016 Training Camp Begins Monday

Training Camp 2016 Kicks Off for the Windsor Express Monday December 12th.
While the on-court training will start on Decemeber 13th, the Express will have the full roster of training camp players in Windsor for orientation and a team meeting on Monday.
The "new look" training camp roster doesn't include any returning players from the 2015-16 team but does feature a few familiar faces in Darren Duncan, Nick Evans and Lester Prosper. All three players spent past seasons in Windsor. Duncan was a league all star and captained the club to its first NBL Canada championship in 2014.
The Express will bring in five Canadians to camp, Alex Campbell (from University of Windsor), Warren Ward, Clinton Springer-Williams, Noel Moffat, and Mitchell Wiggins Jr. The NBL Canada requires a minimum of four roster spots for Canadian players.
Two players have direct family ties to the NBA. Wally Ellenson is the older brother of Detroit Pistons 2016 1st round draft choice, Henry Ellenson. Mitchell Wiggins Jr. is the older brother of 2014 NBA 1st overall draft choice and Minnesota Timberwolves star Andrew Wiggins.
The Express will get in front of students at L'Essor High School on Monday December 19th for a practice and team scrimmage. That event kicks off at 12:00 PM.
The lone pre-season game scheduled for the Express will take place Wednesday December 21st as Windsor hosts the London Lightning at the St. Clair College Sportsplex. That game is set for a 7:00 PM tip-off. Tickets are $5.00 and fans are encouraged to bring a canned good or non-perishable food item for donation.
The 21 players in camp will be cut down to the final 12-man roster by December 24th.
The Express begin the 2016-17 season on the road on December 29th in Orangeville, before hosting the same Orangeville A's in the home opener the following night on Friday December 30th at the WFCU Centre for a 7:00 PM start time.
