Tracy's big night gives Sidewinders third straight win

Portland, OR - Chad Tracy's one out RBI double in the top of the ninth kick started a three run rally that led the Sidewinders past the Portland Beavers 5-2 on Monday night at PGE Park. Tracy finished 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.

With the score tied at two entering the ninth, Trent Oeltjen drew a walk and advanced to third on Alex Romero's base hit to left. Tracy smoked a double over the head of right-fielder Peter Ciofrone to put Tucson in front 3-2 and after an intentional walk to Trot Nixon, Josh Whitesell and Wilkin Castillo followed with RBI to give the Sidewinders a 5-2 lead.

Jailen Peguero worked the final two innings for his second win of the season. Peguero struck out 3 and allowed just one hit.

The Sidewinders and Beavers play game two of their series on Tuesday morning at PGE Park. Right-hander Billy Buckner (2-3, 5.29) starts for Tucson against left-hander Cesar Ramos (4-3, 7.20) for Portland. First pitch is at 11:05 am. The game will air LIVE on the internet at www.tucsonsidewinders.com and on a tape delayed basis at 7:00 on COOL 1450.
