ASHEVILLE, NC - National anthem auditions for the Asheville Tourists' 2013 baseball games will be held this Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at McCormick Field. Potential game-day singers will perform "The Star Spangled Banner" a cappella on the field during their audition.
Talented singers are always in demand to perform "The Star Spangled Banner" prior to the baseball games. Those interested should go to the field after entering the ballpark. Auditions will be conducted behind home plate.
"We usually have several returning singers from seasons past, but we're always looking for new talent," said Tourists community relations manager Ashley Trobaugh.
The Tourists open their 2013 season at McCormick Field on April 11 against the West Virginia Power, beginning at 7:05 p.m. Single game tickets will be available starting March 23, at 10 a.m. For more information, contact the Tourists front office at (828) 258-0428 or theashevilletourists.com.
