Torquato and Palmieri invited to NHL combine

The National Hockey League announced today that Erie Otters forwards Zack Torquato and Nick Palmieri were among the 105 draft eligible players invited by NHL Central Scouting to attend the National Hockey League Combine being held May 29-June 2nd.

Torquato, currently with Team Canada at the 2007 IIHF World Under-18 Championship being held in Finland, led the Otters in scoring during the 2006-07 season. In 65 games the 17 year-old Sault Ste, Marie, Ontario native collected 30 goals and 39 assists for 69 points. The second year forward was listed 36th among players in North America in the NHL Central Scouting Mid-Term Rankings released in January.

Palmieri finished his second season with the Otters as the club's third leading scorer with 24 goals and 21 assists for 45 points in 56 games. The 17 year-old Clinton, New York native, who was listed 43rd among players in North America in the NHL Central Scouting Mid-Term Rankings released in January, has appeared in 124 career OHL games with the Otters collecting 37 goals and 31 assists for 68 points.

The final NHL Central Scouting Ratings, including players from North America and Europe, is scheduled to be released April 25th. The 2007 NHL Entry Draft will be held June 22nd and 23rd in Columbus, Ohio.

2007-08 Erie Otters Season Tickets are now on sale at the same price as 2006-07. Season Ticket Holders who renew their packages in full prior to April 15th will entered into a drawing to win $100 Erie Otters Merchandise Gift Certificate, an autographed team stick or two free tickets to the Otters Champions for Education Dinner. Drawing will be made on April 18th. In addition, the first 50 renewals from 2006-07 Season Ticket Holders will be invited to an exclusive Reception to honor the No. 1 selection in the 2007 OHL Priority Selection (details to be announced).
