Toros Beat BayHawks, Keep Series Alive

Cedar Park, TX April 15, 2012 - In front of 4,392 fans, the Austin Toros defeated the Erie BayHawks, 97-87, on Sunday afternoon at Cedar Park Center. The win tied the playoff series at 1-1.

After being down by four early in the first quarter, the Toros came charging back to take the lead. Cory Joseph's eight points in the quarter gave Austin a 31-23 advantage going into the second quarter.

The Toros extended their lead in the second quarter, at one point leading by 18 points. The BayHawks fought back and cut the Toros lead in half, ending the quarter down 57-48.

Austin again jumped out to an 18-point lead in the third quarter. However, Joey Graham had 12 points in the quarter for Erie to reduce the Toros lead to five, 82-77, going into the fourth quarter.

Luke Zeller gave the Toros a ten-point lead, 89-79, off a three pointer early in the fourth. The Toros maintained the lead throughout the rest of the quarter, winning the game, 97-87.

Flip Murray led all scorers with 21 points and four assists. Joseph finished the game with 14 points and seven assists.

Graham led the BayHawks with 20 points and seven rebounds. D.J. Kennedy recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
