
Toros Acquires Scales, Waives Adams

GREENVILLE, S.C., December 21 - The Austin Toros have acquired guard Alex Scales from the NBA Development League available player pool and waived guard Ben Adams.
Scales, 6-4, 190, was waived by the San Antonio Spurs on November 28 after appearing in one game and failing to score. He was in training camp this preseason with the Seattle SuperSonics. An All-Pac-10 selection as a senior at Oregon, Scales has also been in camp with the Houston Rockets (2003) and New Jersey Nets (2004).
This is Scales second time around in the D-League. He played in 12 games with the Huntsville Flight (now Albuquerque) during the 2003-04 season, averaging 30.4 minutes, 15.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists. He has also played in the CBA and internationally in China, Italy, Argentina and most recently in Korea, where he led the Seoul Samsung Thunders to the Korean KBL semifinals.
Adams played in seven games for Austin, averaging 14.3 minutes, 5.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
