
Toronto FC Sign Homegrown Defender Adam Pearlman

Toronto FC announced today that the club has signed defender Adam Pearlman to a First Team contract as a Homegrown player through 2027 with an option for 2028. Pearlman becomes the 33rd player in club history to sign for the First Team from the Toronto FC Academy.
"We are happy to have Adam continue his football growth with us as a Homegrown signing this season," said Toronto FC General Manager Jason Hernandez. "Adam has been a standout performer at both the Academy and MLS NEXT Pro platforms while also representing his country at the international level. We look forward to continuing to work with Adam in 2024 and beyond."
Pearlman, 18, joins Toronto FC after spending the past two seasons (2022, 2023) with Toronto FC II, where he made 48 appearances, including 47 starts, in MLS NEXT Pro action. Last season, Pearlman was signed to a short-term loan with Toronto FC and made his TFC debut as a substitute against St. Louis City SC on July 8, 2023. He originally signed with TFC II on April 8, 2022 and made his professional debut against New York City FC II on April 10, 2022. During his debut season with the Young Reds, Pearlman was also named to the 2022 MLS NEXT All-Star Game and featured in Team MLS NEXT East's 2-1 victory in Minnesota on August 10, 2022.
Pearlman previously represented Toronto FC Academy in Ontario Player Development League and U.S. Soccer Development Academy action across the U-12 to U-19 age groups from 2016 to 2021. In 2018, he participated in the U-13 CONCACAF Champions League with the TFC Academy in Toluca, Mexico. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Pearlman originally joined the Toronto FC Academy in October 2016 after spending time with Glen Shields Futbol Club and Future Soccer Academy.
