Toronto FC Re-Signs Justin Morrow

Toronto FC announced Monday that the club has re-signed defender Justin Morrow to a multi-year deal. As per team and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Justin has been an important player for Toronto FC over the past two seasons, and he is part of our core group we feel we can build our defence around," said Toronto FC General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko. "Aside from his contributions on the pitch, Justin is a great representative of our club off the pitch, with his tireless efforts in the community. We are all very happy to re-sign Justin."

Morrow, 28, recently completed his second season with Toronto FC and sixth in Major League Soccer. Morrow has made 69 appearances, scoring two goals and five assists across all competitions (MLS league play, MLS playoffs, Amway Canadian Championship) for TFC. In six seasons in MLS, Morrow has made 136 appearances, scoring four goals and 12 assists (MLS league play, MLS playoffs). Morrow joined Toronto FC on December 16, 2013 in a trade with the San Jose Earthquakes, where he spent the first four seasons of his professional career. He was originally selected in the second-round of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft (28th overall) by the Earthquakes.

To date, Morrow has earned one cap for the United States Men's national team. The appearance came during a friendly against Canada in January, 2013. Morrow was also an unused substitute for the U.S. during a pair of 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Costa Rica, and Mexico in March 2013.
