Columbus Crew SC Prepares for 2015 MLS Cup at MAPFRE Stadium on Sunday

COLUMBUS - Columbus Crew SC is the 2015 Major League Soccer Eastern Conference champion and is set to host the 2015 MLS Cup at MAPFRE Stadium against Portland Timbers FC on Sunday, December 6 (ESPN, UniMas, CD102.5 FM, La Mega 103.1 FM). The match is set to kick-off at 4:00 p.m. ET on Sunday.

This week, the club trains for four sessions ahead of the match. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, Crew SC is slated to train at the EAS Training Center at Obetz (4153 Alum Creek Drive, Obetz OH 43207), with all three sessions estimated to open to members of the media between 11:15 - 11:45 a.m. ET. On Saturday, the Black & Gold train at MAPFRE Stadium (1 Black & Gold Boulevard, Columbus OH 43211) with the session estimated to open between 4:15 - 4:30 p.m. ET.

Without exception, credential applications must be received by Tuesday, December 1 at 6:00 p.m. ET. MLS All-Stadium credentials, MAPFRE Stadium season credentials, and credentials from previous MLS events will not be recognized for any of the media events surrounding 2015 MLS Cup. Information on media events for the week leading up to the match will be distributed as available.

The Black & Gold have advanced to MLS Cup for the second time in club history and the first time since 2008, when Crew SC defeated the New York Red Bulls by a 3-1 final to win the club's first championship. By hosting the final at MAPFRE Stadium, Crew SC becomes the first major professional sports team from Columbus to play for a championship on Central Ohio soil.
