Toronto FC II News Release
Toronto FC II announced Friday that the club has signed goalkeeper Angelo Cavalluzzo to a USL contract. Cavalluzzo becomes the 25th player to sign from the Kia Toronto FC Academy to a professional contract for both Toronto FC and Toronto FC II.
"Angelo was faced with some difficult situations last season. He came in as a substitute on two separate occasions after our starting goalkeeper went down with an injury," said Toronto FC II Head Coach Jason Bent. "Each time he handled the challenge very well, showing that he could cope with the demands of being a professional."
Cavalluzzo, 24, appeared in five matches, starting in three recording a record of 1-2-0 while logging 364 minutes during the 2016 USL regular season for Toronto FC II as a call up from the Kia Toronto FC Senior Academy team. He made his professional debut for Toronto FC II as a substitute on June 6, 2016 against the Harrisburg City Islanders. He made his first professional start and earned his first victory on August 31, 2016 against Bethlehem Steel FC.
