NEW YORK (Monday, March 11, 2013) - Toronto FC forward Robert Earnshaw was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for Week Two of the 2013 MLS season.

Earnshaw recorded both goals in a 2-1 win over Sporting Kansas City on Saturday, lifting Toronto to their first win of the 2013 season.

The first of Earnshaw's goals came in the third minute of play. The former Tottenham Hotspur striker intercepted a weak back-pass just at the top of the box and slotted the ball into the back of the net from 12-yards out.

In the 20th minute, Toronto midfielder John Bostock was taken down inside the 18-yard box leading to a penalty kick opportunity for the Canadian side. Earnshaw stepped up to take the kick and tallied his second of the game with a well-placed shot to the left corner.

Earnshaw and Toronto FC return to action for Rivalry Week as the team travels to Montreal to face Canadian rivals the Montreal Impact on March 16 (TSN/RDS, 4 p.m. ET).

The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a panel of journalists from NASR. The group consists of members of print, television, radio and online media. More information and membership information can be found at http://www.soccerreporters.com/.
