STATESBORO, Ga. - South Georgia Tormenta FC fell 1-0 to North Carolina FC on the road as their 2021 USL League One season comes to a close.
Tormenta FC recorded 11 shots tonight, including a late-match near goal from Tormenta Academy signee Brittain Gottlieb. During first-half stoppage time, Raheem Somersall received a second yellow and was sent off with a red for the remainder of the match, leaving Tormenta down a man.
Early into the second half, former Tormenta FC player Peter Pearson gave NCFC the lead with a strike from outside the box which slid past Pablo Jara.
Tonight's Man of the Match, presented by Galactic Comics and Games, is goalkeeper and team captain Pablo Jara who recorded five saves, one punch and two clearances tonight.
