Tormenta FC Episode Kicks Off League-Wide ONE Documentary Series

April 17, 2019 - United Soccer League One (USL1)
South Georgia Tormenta FC News Release

Today, USL League One released the first episode of ONE, a five-part documentary series that will unearth growing relationships between clubs and their communities from around the newly formed league. Fans can view the documentary on the USL League One Youtube page.

This episode, "A Club on the Rise", stirs the emotions of its viewers, diving into Tormenta FC's fan culture and deep connection to South Georgia. "A Club on the Rise" exudes the energy and excitement that took over Statesboro leading up to the club's inaugural home opener in late March. Players, coaches, staff and fans tell Tormenta's story through their own experiences, but one theme sticks out: as Tormenta FC grows and expands its reach, it plans to bring its city and community along with it.

"The league did a fabulous job of capturing our team, our culture, our phenomenal fans and our community," Tormenta FC owner Netra Van Tassell commented. "It gave me chills and honestly a tear in my eyes. Spot on."

The documentary series is a part of USL League One's "We Are One" campaign which was announced in February 2019. The campaign will showcase the league's inaugural season while creating a platform for uncovering club supporter cultures and community connections.

Still sitting at the top of the League One standings, Tormenta FC travels to play Chattanooga Red Wolves SC this Saturday at 7 pm EST. The club's next home game will be May 7 at 8 pm as Tormenta 2 also faces Chattanooga for Round 1 of the US Open Cup. To learn more and purchase tickets, visit www.tormentafc.com.
