South Georgia Tormenta FC News Release
Tormenta FC faced number one North Texas SC tonight on the road and drew 0-0 with one man down. This was the first meeting between the top two teams in USL League One, and neither were able to bring home three points.
North Texas started the attack off early in the 4th minute, but Pablo Jara made a signature save to block the shot. The first half ended in a scoreless draw with both teams performing well. North Texas led in possession and shots, but Jara and his backline were able to stop all attempts.
In the 75th, Tormenta was forced to carry on with ten men after midfielder Nil Vinyals received a red card for excessive force. Less than a minute later, North Texas won a penalty in the box which Ricardo Pepi shot and missed narrowly just right of the goal.
Even with one man down, Tormenta was able to keep its clean sheet for the remainder of the match. Tormenta FC now comes home to play Lansing Ignite FC on Saturday, July 27 at 8PM in Erk Russell Park.
