FC Tucson Travels to Greenville, South Carolina for the First Time this Season

Forward Jordan Jones was named to the USL League One Team of the Week for both Week 15 and Week 16.

FC Tucson continues its road campaign this Saturday with a showdown against conference foe Greenville Triumph SC at Legacy Early College in Greenville, SC. Tucson enters the match following a 2-2 draw versus Lansing Ignite FC at Cooley Law School Stadium in Lansing, Mich.

Last Saturday, Tucson fought back from two early deficits to earn a tough point in Lansing. An early penalty kick resulted in a 1-0 lead for the home side in the 26th minute. Moments later, Phoenix Rising FC loanee midfielder Ramone Howell netted the equalizer following a solo run down the middle of the field to surpass the Lansing backline.

The home side found the back of the net in the closing minutes of the first half to extend the lead to 2-1 at the break.

In the 50thminute, Tucson was awarded a chance from the spot following a handball foul against Lansing inside of the box.

Forward Jordan Jones delivered on the opportunity to give the Men in Black its second equalizer of the match and his third goal of the season.

Greenville Triumph SC enters the match following a 1-0 victory over Orlando City B on July 13th. The club is currently sixth in the table with 20 points.

This will serve as the first regular-season match between the two sides.

Forward Jordan Jones was named to the USL League One Team of the Week for the second consecutive time this season. Jones is the first FC Tucson player to accomplish this feat in the club's professional era.

Keep The Points Rolling

While this match marks the first trip to Greenville, SC, the Triumph have won just two out of their last five matches at home. GVL currently ranks last in USL League One in goals (11) as well as goal conversion rate (7%).

Man of Many Talents

Defender Luke Hauswirth has become a staple on the Tucson backline with the departure of RB Kyle Bjornethun to USL Championship side Phoenix Rising FC. In 12 appearances, Hauswirth has recorded 16 tackles, 10 interceptions and eight created chances. He's also won 13 of 19 aerial duels.

Forward Jordan Jones and midfielders Devyn Jambga and Devin Vega are currently tied for first on the team in goals scored (3). The trio has combined for 19 shots on goal and nine scores. Midfielder Devyn Jambga leads the pack with 19 shots and eight shots on frame.

Midfielder Jamael Cox leads FC Tucson in appearances (15), starts (11) and most playable minutes this season (1,080). There are five FC Tucson players that have registered over ten starts and 900+ minutes this season (Cox, Wheeler-Omiunu, Venter, Ejimadu and Jambga).
