Tormenta 2's Kobe Perez has signed his first professional contract with the club's USL League One side, pending league and federation approval. The 6'0, 160-pound midfielder just wrapped up Tormenta 2's playoff run, helping the team clinch its second Deep South Division championship title and first Southern Conference championship. Perez is eligible for play starting this Saturday against Greenville Triumph SC.

"After the USL League Two season Kobe had with us, we had to sign him," Tormenta FC League One head coach John Miglarese said. "He has high character and is a very capable midfielder. He bolsters our midfield core and will feature this season."

Perez was a staple in Tormenta 2's midfield this season with 17 games played in 961 minutes, notching three goals and three assists.

The midfielder graduated from Mercer University in May 2019. There, Perez appeared on the 2017 All-Southern Conference Tournament Team, 2017 All-Southern Conference Preseason Team, and 2015 Southern Conference All-Freshman Team.

"I would like to thank the Tormenta organization, my family, friends and team managers - but most importantly, thank you to all the players who have joined me on multiple playing fields and aided me in accomplishing my first professional contract," Perez said. "It's a dream come true."

Tormenta FC faces rival Greenville Triumph SC on the road this Saturday at 7 p.m. at Legacy Early College Field. Tormenta then comes home on August 10 to play the Chattanooga Red Wolves at home in Erk Russell Park at 8 p.m.
