Bangor, ME- The Bangor Lumberjacks open a seven game home stand on Monday, July 26 against the New Haven County Cutters. The Lumberjacks then take on the Elmira Pioneers for four games. The home stand is packed with promotions as the Jacks return to the Wink after an eleven-day break from being the home team.
Monday is Cumulus Broadcasting's Elvis Night at the Wink. Those who come to the park dressed as Elvis receive a free reserved ticket and can participate in the Lumberjacks Elvis Look-a-Like Contest. Prizes will be given to the best look-a-like, sound-a-like and best Elvis dance moves from Spencer's Gifts in the Bangor Mall. At 5:45, Bruce Nye the Elvis Guy will be performing in the concourse and DJ's from 95.7 FM will be on hand as well. Game starts at 6:30, Elvis performance is from 5:45-6:15. If you are an Elvis fan, this is a night you cannot miss!
Tuesday sees the return of the Lumberjacks 2 for 2sday, meaning all reserved tickets are buy one, get one free. Game time is 6:30 PM, with gates opening at 5:30.
Wednesday is the Lumberjacks Christmas in July sponsored by Brewer Wal-Mart Supercenter. The Lumberjacks players will be wearing special Christmas themed jerseys for their game against the Cutters, which begins at 6:30. A silent auction will be held during the game where fans can bid to take home the jerseys after the game, which will be autographed by the players. Proceeds will benefit Golden Moments, a non-profit group that trains seeing-eye dogs for the blind. Golden Moments will be finishing a walk-a-thon at the ballpark prior to the game and one of the seeing-eye dogs will be "running" out the first pitch. Fans are encouraged to bring dog food to the game to receive a 2 for 1 deal on reserved tickets.
Thursday the Lumberjacks open a four game series against the Elmira Pioneers for the Lumberjacks Parks and Rec Night. Local Parks and Recreation departments from area towns are invited to the game at the discount price of $4 for adults and $2 for children. There will be a drawing at the gate among the Parks and Rec fans to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. The game begins at 6:30, with gates opening at 5:30.
Friday is UniFirst T-shirt giveaway night. The first few hundred fans through the gate Friday night, which open at 5:30, will receive a free Lumberjacks T-shirt, courtesy of UniFirst. As always, all season, ten, and five pack tickets holders will receive a shirt as well. The U.S. Army will also be on hand with their rock-climbing wall for fans to test their ability to scale a mountain. There will also be great giveaways from the Army.
Saturday is the return of the Lumberjacks Boy Scout Campout. Area Boy Scouts are invited to come to the game, and then spend the night on the field as the Jacks present a movie following the game against Elmira. There will be great giveaways for the Boy Scouts as well. Jack Timber says the only place to camp out is the outfield! Game time is 6:30; gates open at 5:30.
Sunday is Jack Pack day at the Wink. Fans are invited to purchase a Jack Pack, which includes four reserved tickets to the 2 PM game, four hot dogs, four programs, and the right to participate in a pre-game on the field ball toss, and post game running of the bases. Jack Packs are available for just $35 on Sunday.
