Tulsa Oilers News Release
Kiss And Make Up: The Tulsa Oilers play their second make up game this month against the Oklahoma City Blazers. Tonight's game is the make-up date from January 12th.
Records: Oilers are 14-18-5 with 33 points in fourth place in the Northeast Division. Oklahoma City is 20-11-5 with 31 points in second place in the Northwest Division.
Recent Action: The Oilers lost 4-3 at Lubbock on Sunday. Oklahoma City is coming off a 3-1 win at home over Colorado on Sunday.
Season Series: This is the ninth of 11 meetings between these two teams this season. Each team has won four games. Ironically, each team has won three of its four games on the other team's home ice. All of the games have been decided in regulation time. Oklahoma City won the most recent contest, 3-2 in Tulsa last Tuesday night.
Tradin' Places: These two teams met last Tuesday in Tulsa, and the following Thursday traded left wingers with Jaroslav Cesky going to Oklahoma City and Jared Dumba joining the Oilers. This is the first time the two teams have met since that trade.
He Stops Them Too: Goaltender Bill Ruggiero has recently had a hand in the Oilers scoring. He has assists in each of his last two games, and now has five assists on the season. He has the most assists of any goaltender in the CHL.
Roster Moves: The Oilers today signed right winger Mike Adamek. He began the season with the Bloomington Prairie Thunder in the United Hockey League, and had two goals and no assists in 28 games. To make room for Adamek on the roster, the Oilers waived Chris Shaw.
Next Up: The Oilers begin a home and home series with the Austin Ice Bats
hosting them on Friday night at 7:35 p.m. and visiting Austin on Saturday.
Saturday's game can be heard on KRVT AM 1270 and via the internet at
