Mudbugs Slide by Odessa 6-4

ODESSA, TX -- The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs held off for a 6-4 win on Tuesday night despite a three goal rally by the Odessa Jackalopes in the third period.

Forbes MacPherson opened up the scoring in the first period, netting a goal 24 seconds into the game. Cam Abbott added a shorthanded goal in the second period, followed by a Daniel Pegoraro's score to give the Bugs a comfortable three goal lead. Mike Rutter would anwer on the power play to get Odessa on the board. MacPherson later hustled to dig a puck out of the corner and feed Dan Wildfong to give the Bugs a 4-1 lead going into the third.

The Mudbugs held off a a three goal rally in the third by Odessa. Kyle Musselman added the Mudbugs fifth goal, deflecting a shot in off the back of the goaltender. Jeff Ewasko scored twice for Odessa to bring the game within a goal. Odessa pulled the goaltender but the Bugs answered on an empty net goal by Forbes MacPherson to earn their fourth straight win.
