Tulsa Oilers News Release

Turnpike Series Continues: The Tulsa Oilers square off tonight against the Oklahoma City Blazers for the fourth time this season, and first here in Tulsa.

Records: Oilers are 11-8-4 with 26 points in fourth place in the Northeast Division. Oklahoma City is 14-7-3 with 31 points in second place in the Northwest Division.

Recent Action: The Oilers snapped a four game winless streak and extended the Blazers winless streak to four games in a big way last night. The Oilers scored a season high 8 goals en route to an 8-4 win. Tulsa had a big second period, scoring six goals, also a season high for most goals in a period.

Season Series: This is the fourth of 11 games between these two teams. The Blazers are in the midst of three straight games against the Oilers. The Oilers will host the Blazers five times between now and January 23rd.

Hitting A Hundred: The Oilers big explosion last night gives them 98 goals on the season, tops in the CHL and puts them on the verge of being the first team to hit 100. The Oilers lead the CHL averaging 4.26 goals a game.

Seven Score: While Abraham Lincoln made the phrase "Four Score and seven..." the Oilers now have seven players who have at least a score (20 or more) points. Four players-David Masse (33 points), Mike Wiggins (31), David Alexandre Beauregard (31) and Jaroslav Cesky (30) have already hit the 30 point plateau. The others with at least 20 points are Bryan LaChapelle (29), Matt Medley (22) and Spencer Carbery (21).

Joseph Back: Oiler right winger Marlon Joseph is coming off injured reserve and is expected to play tonight.

Dearle Out: Oklahoma City left winger Graham Dearle is suspended for tonight's game for his hit on Brent McMann last night that drew a major penalty and a game misconduct.

Next Up: The Oilers continue their busiest week of the season playing at Amarillo on Friday at 7:05. That game can be heard on KRVT AM 1270 and via the internet at www.tulsaoilers.com. They return home Saturday against the Blazers at 7:35 p.m.
