Johnstown Tomahawks News Release
JAMESTOWN, NY - The Johnstown Tomahawks fell to the Jamestown Rebels at Northwest Arena, snapping their five-game winning streak.
Jamestown took a 1-0 lead late in the 1st, with Eric Olson scoring on the power play with less than three minutes to go in the period. But Johnstown stuck back over a minute later with a power play goal of their own, thanks to Tristan Poissant and his 11th goal of the year.
Noah Finstrom then put the Rebels up 2-1 three minutes into the second period. The Tomahawks had several chances on the power play to get the equalizer, but failed to do so each time.
The Rebels kept their foot on the gas and never looked back. They added four more goals in the third period off the sticks of Jordan Cormier, Nick Siffringer, Noah Finstrom, and Brett Morich to give them the 6-1 victory.
With the loss and a New Jersey win, the Tomahawks (48 points) now trail the Titans (51 points) by three for the division lead. Elsewhere in the East, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights defeated the Maryland Black Bears and the Northeast Generals fell to the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.
