Walleye Notes

- Past Week Performance: Toledo finished this past week with a 1-2-0-0 record. The Walleye started the week with a 4-3 loss in Greenville to the Road Warriors. Forward Evan Rankin had a goal and two assists, while Gleason Fournier and Adam Estoclet each scored their first professional goals. Saturday night, goaltender Thomas McCollum turned aside 34 of the 35 shots he faced in a 1-0 loss at South Carolina. On Sunday, Toledo set season-highs with five goals and 44 shots in a 5-2 win at Gwinnett. In both the first and third periods, Toledo sent 17 shots on the Gwinnett net which are also season-highs.

- Penalty Kill: After a tough start on the penalty kill this season, Toledo has stopped 19 of the last 21 power plays against. For the season, Toledo has stopped 24 of the 31 chances against (77.4%).

- Offense Roars! After going five consecutive periods without a goal starting Saturday night in South Carolina, the Walleye exploded for four goals in five minutes Sunday at Gwinnett. Forward Rob Flick started the scoring at 8:47 of the third period, Joey Martin at 11:04, Kyle Rogers at 12:52, and Flick again at 13:42.

- Rauch the Offensive Juggernaut: Defenseman and Toledo native Phil Rauch scored his second goal of the season Sunday in Gwinnett. The defenseman scored one goal in 132 games at Canisius College.

- Gametime! The Walleye play three games this week in the friendly confines of the Huntington Center. The first is Wednesday morning when the Walleye host Chicago. Toledo is 0-2-0-0 against the Express this season. The Gwinnett Gladiators will be in Toledo for both the games on Friday and Saturday. Toledo won the first meeting this season 5-2 Sunday in their only trip into Gwinnett.

- Promotions: Wednesday is the annual "School Celebration Day" with the Walleye. All kids will receive a school folder presented by BCSN. Friday night is Military Appreciation Night with the Walleye players wearing special Patriotic Jerseys to be auctioned off following the game. The proceeds from the auction will go to benefit Heroes in Action, a local military support group. The Cell Phones for Soldiers drive will be going on as well on Friday and Saturday. Donate your old cell phones as you enter the games. There will also be a post-game party with the players on Friday night on the Club Level upstairs. Saturday will feature the "Battle of the Badges" charity game featuring the Toledo Fire Department against the Toledo Police Department. The game begins at 3:00 p.m. A portion of the ticket sales from the game on November 12 will benefit the Firefighters Local 92 Charities and the Toledo Police Athletic League.
