The Torrington Titans (4-8) beat the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (6-6) 6-5 on Wednesday at Fuessenich Park behind Mike DeMartino, who had two extra base hits.
He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.
Nick Mondak's 10 strikeouts were enough to push the Torrington Titans past the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. Mondak allowed two earned runs on seven hits and no walks over six innings.
Grant Hoover was solid at the plate for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. Hoover went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the sixth inning.
Corey Hart was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out six, and allowed two runs.
