New Jersey Titans News Release
FAIRBANKS, ALASKA - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs' high-powered offense once again got the best of the Titans losing both games by a 5-1 score on Friday night and 2-1 on Saturday.
On Friday, the Ice Dogs jumped out to a three-goal lead before the Titans could find the net. Adam Hascic got rid of the goose egg in the Titans goal column with his seventh of the season from Tony DeVito and Jesse Farabee.
Both goaltenders needed to be used as Spencer Wright made 23 saves on 26 shots in just a little more than 26 minutes on the ice before making way for Jack Berry. The Wisconsin commit put up similar numbers with 26 saves in 28 shots.
On Saturday, it was Berry who kept the Titans in the finale of the Alaska trip.
They went into the third period trailing by just two and showed much more than a glimmer of hope when Ray Brice scored his 19th of the season at 11:34 of the third period.
However, despite skating with an extra attacker after pulling Berry, the Titans could find the game-tying goal. Berry meanwhile, wound up finishing the game with an impressive 48 saves on 50 shots.
With the Aston Rebels' win on Saturday, the Titans trail them by two points in the East Division heading into the final weekend of the season. The Titans will have to win both games in order to win the division.
Friday night will be the road leg of the weekend in Aston at 7 p.m. with the regular season finale at Middletown Ice World on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
