Trenton Devils News Release
TRENTON, NJ (September 23, 2004) - The Trenton Titans announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Kevin Holridge for the 2004-05 season. Per club policy, the terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Kevin's a big guy that gets around the ice very well," said Mike Havliand, Titans Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations. "He adds depth to our blueline and brings experience to the locker room."
Holdridge - 6'2", 200 lbs. - split time during his rookie season with the Louisiana IceGators, Florida Everblades and Roanoke Express. The Express acquired the 24-year old along with Carl Mallette from the Everblades at the trade deadline in exchange for Tim O'Connell. Holdridge contributed 6 assists and a plus-8 rating over 21 games, as he helped solidify Roanoke's backline for their postseason push. Now entering his second professional season, Holdridge finished 2003-04 with 11 assists and 98 penalty minutes in 65 games
Prior to beginning his professional career, Holdrige skated for four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League and was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the third round (#70 overall) of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. The native of Syracuse, NY took a hiatus from hockey in 2000 in order to earn his degree from the University of Michigan before returning to the game ice last year.
Holdridge becomes the twenty-third player signed by the Titans for the 2004-05 season.
