Cape Breton Eagles News Release

NOTES FROM THE GAME

- Two goal games from Milo Roelens & Alexandre Lallier helped pace the Acadie-Bathurst Titan to a 5-2 victory over the Cape Breton Eagles on Sunday afternoon. The teams split a pair of games on the weekend at Centre 200.

- Cole Burbidge & Cam MacDonald scored for the Eagles, with MacDonald adding an assist for a two point night.

- Bathurst's Antoine Keller goaltender stopped 27 of 29 in the win, while Cape Breton's Jakob Milota stopped 27 of 32 shots.

The Eagles got the start they were looking for, with Burbidge striking first on the man advantage at the 4:12 mark. Eagles special teams continued to star, killing off a full two minute five on three with Émile Ricard & Conor Shortall both in the box. But the Titan did equalize with a sharp angle shot by Roelens going over Milota to tie the game.

After being outshot in the opening period, Bathurst took control of the game in the second stanza, outshooting the Eagles 12-4. The game remained tied halfway through regulation. At the 14:36 mark, Roelens jabbed the puck in the blue paint past Milota to put the TItan ahead. 23 seconds later, a heavy shot from the top of the right faceoff circle from Igor Mburanumwe expanded the Titan lead. Before period's end, MacDonald's second point of the night pulled the Eagles within a goal.

Lallier provided all the scoring in the third period, first at the 5:51 mark to make it 4-2. Lallier found himself on the scoresheet moments later, taking a penalty, but the Eagles couldn't convert on the power play. Lalllier was sprung on a breakway coming out of the penalty box, and outdeked Milota to give Bathurst a 5-2 lead and finishing the scoring for the day.
