TUKWILA, Wash. - With a second-half brace from forward Diego Gutierrez, Timbers2 downed second place Tacoma Defiance in a 2-0 road win on Sunday night at Starfire Sports Complex. The match was the last of the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro season for T2.

Goal-Scoring Plays

POR - Diego Gutierrez (Selmir Miscic), 66th minute: Selmir Miscic challenged and won the ball from a Defiance defender on the left wing before dribbling into the corner of the 18-yard box and crossing the ball towards the penalty spot. Diego Gutierrez finished off the play firing a right-footed shot on his first touch and into the left corner of the goal.

POR - Diego Gutierrez (Ish Jome), 75th minute: Ish Jome passed the ball towards the middle of the field from the left flank to Gutierrez. Gutierrez dribbled between four Defiance players at the top of the box, eventually cutting and shooting a right-footed curler into the right corner of the goal.
