PORTLAND, Ore. - Timbers2 fell to St. Louis CITY2 2-1 at Providence Park on Thursday evening. With a quick turnaround, T2 travel to take on Earthquakes II on Saturday, May 28 at PayPal Park. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. (Pacific) and will be streamed live on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.
Goal-Scoring Plays
POR - Florián Monzón, 4th minute: Off a set piece, Alex Moreno served the ball into the box before a St. Louis defender attempted to clear the ball with a header. Monzón, standing near the penalty kick spot, controlled the ball as it came down and shot a right-footed ball off his first touch, scoring into the right corner of the goal.
STL - Faysal Bettache (John Klein), 34th minute: Klein dribbled the ball towards the left side of the box and passed it off to Bettache, who drove it to the top of the box before curling a left-footed shot into the right corner of the goal.
STL - John Klein (Wan Kuzain), 39th minute: From the left side of the 18-yard box, Kuzain sent a floating ball into the top of the six-yard box where Klein finished the play with a header into left corner of the field.
