
Timbers Loan Jallow to Sweden

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers have come to an agreement to loan forward Antouman Jallow to Swedish club Sandvikens IF, it was announced today pending league approval and international clearance.
Jallow, 28, will join Sandvikens IF, which competes in Sweden's fourth division, for the remainder of the club's season. Sandvikens IF faces Gamla Uppsala SK in its next match Saturday.
A native of Uppsala, Sweden, Jallow appeared in two league matches this season for Portland and scored a goal in the club's 3-0 road win over the Miami FC Blues on July 19. He also scored in the team's exhibition match against Bayern Munich II on July 2.
Prior to joining the Timbers in 2009, Jallow played four seasons in Sweden's top leagues while with clubs Gefle IF (2005-06) and Sirius IK (2007-08).
DEFENDER STEPHEN KEEL NAMED TO TEAM OF THE WEEK United Soccer Leagues announced today that Timbers defender Stephen Keel was selected to the USL First Division Team of the Week for Week 16. Keel aided in the Timbers' ninth shutout of the season in a scoreless draw against the Puerto Rico Islanders on July 23; it's his first Team of the Week selection.
The Timbers return to USL First Division action Saturday on the road against the Minnesota Thunder at 5:05 p.m. (Pacific).
