Tiger-Cats and Purolator Team up to Tackle Hunger at Labour Day Classic
September 2, 2009 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release
Hamilton, Ontario - The Tiger-Cats and Purolator are teaming up to support Hamilton Food Share as the Purolator Tackle Hunger food drive will take place at Ivor Wynne Stadium at this Monday's Labour Day Classic.
Ticats alumni and the wives of Ticats players will be collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations at entrances throughout Ivor Wynne Stadium. By donating to the Hamilton Food Share, fans will have the opportunity to take a photo with the Grey Cup and enter to win a trip for two to the 2009 Grey Cup game in Calgary. The Ticats are also accepting donations during the week leading up to Monday's game at their business office (1 Jarvis Street/Hamilton).
In Hamilton, 15,748 people per month turn to a food bank -- 40% of those people are under the age of 18. Every donation helps make a difference in our community.
Last year, Ticats fans donated 21,677 pounds of food.
