Tickets now on sale for Steelheads vs. Gladiators series

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads announced today that tickets are now on sale for the best-of-five ECHL's Western Conference Finals. Idaho will take on the Gwinnett Gladiators, who won the Central Division Finals three-games-to-one over the top-seeded Louisiana Icegators, Friday night. Gwinnett's Paul Flache scored two goals, including the game-winning goal at 9:03 of the second overtime period, to give the Gladiators a 6-5 Game 4 win over the IceGators (at Gwinnett).

Gwinnett's regular season 92 points (42-22-8) makes it a higher seed than Idaho (89 points, 40-23-9), giving the Gladiator's home ice advantage. Games 1 and 2 will be played at Gwinnett (Duluth, Georgia) on Tuesday, April 27th and Wednesday, April 28th. Game 3 will be played at Idaho's Bank of America Centre on Saturday, May 1st and, Game 4 if necessary, on Wednesday, May 5th. If a Game 5 is necessary, the teams will return to play in Georgia; date and time to be announced.

The Steelheads' home ticket prices range from $12.00 to $29.00 for adults and $9.00 to $19.25 for youth and seniors. ECHL KELLY CUP PLAYOFF NOTES....

Seventeen teams began the ECHL playoffs in the quest for the Kelly Cup...now there are four.... The winner of the Western Conference Finals advances to the Kelly Cup Finals against either the Florida Everblades (2,787 miles away) or Reading (Pennsylvania) Royals (2,401 miles away).... The Steelheads will travel 2,201 miles from Boise's ice to Gwinnett's ice on Monday for Tuesday night's Game 1.... Neither the Steelheads nor the Gladiators have ever won a championship.... Blue Bennefield, a right winger on Gwinnett's roster, played seven regular season games for the Steelheads and was on Idaho's playoff roster in 1999-2000.... NHL Goaltending Caliber: Gwinnett's Adam Munro and Idaho's Dan Ellis, both Ontario Canada natives, spent time on an NHL team's roster this season, each winning one game; Munro was drafted in round 1 #29 overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks and played seven games with the club this season; Ellis had a one-game stint with the Dallas Stars having been drafted by the team in round 2 #60 overall in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.... The ECHL is a national league with 31 teams in 17 states making the ECHL Champion a National Champion!
