
Tickets Now on Sale for Second Annual RailCats Fan Fest

GARY, Ind. - After attracting more than 1,000 die-hard fans in 2009, the Gary SouthShore RailCats today announced their second-annual Fan Fest will be held Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza, and tickets to the one-of-a-kind event will go on sale tonight.
For the second year in a row, the RailCats will come together with their fans for a day of affordable family fun at Northwest Indiana's premier hotel and convention center. The 2010 Fan Fest will run from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and once again include current and former RailCats stars, baseball clinics, question and answer forums, autograph/photo sessions and plenty more. Attendees in 2009 included former stars Willie Glen and Anthony Iapoce, current âCats Jay Pecci and Steve Haake, and former Chicago White Sox hurler Tommy John. The first-ever Fan Fest drew over 1,000 fans and included surprises like the unveiling of a new Sunday uniform and the signings of Pecci and Eric McNamee to player contracts.
General Admission Fan Fest tickets will be sold for $25, with tickets for kids (age 12 and under) and season ticket holders available for $10. However, any adult ticket purchased in advance of the event will be sold at the discount price of $20. In addition, any fans who buy Fan Fest tickets for 2010 before Monday, August 31 will get a free reserved seat ticket to the RailCats first 2009 playoff game. Entering play tonight, the second place RailCats "magic number" to clinch a fifth-straight playoff berth is five with 17 regular season games remaining.
Tickets for the 2010 Fan Fest will go on sale tonight at U. S. Steel Yard as the âCats kick off a decisive four-game series against the league-leading Winnipeg Goldeyes at 7 p.m. After tonight's opening, Fan Fest Tickets will remain on sale at U. S. Steel Yard every day during normal box office hours and during all remaining RailCats home games. Fan Fest tickets can also be purchased by calling 219.882.2255.

The RailCats Tradition of Excellence includes four straight appearances in the Northern League Championship Series and league titles in 2005 and 2007.
