December 16, 2013 - SPHL (SPHL)
Peoria Rivermen News Release
In support of the ongoing tornado recovery process in central Illinois, the Peoria Rivermen have declared this Friday, December 20 as "Central Illinois STRONG Night" at Carver Arena. Among the night's events will be a dedication to the communities hit by November's tornado. Game time is 7:15 p.m. against Bloomington.
Fans can get a great deal on tickets and also help the cause by taking advantage of the "Lower Bowl End Rivermen Tornado Fund Special." That night only, lower bowl end seats will be just $15 and for every ticket in that area sold, a portion will be donated to the relief fund. The special is only available through the Rivermen office (309-676-1040) until this Friday at 2 p.m.
In addition, OT Sports, "The Official Jersey Supplier to the SPHL," has designed special Rivermen jerseys, which will be worn during the game and auctioned off afterwards. 100% of all proceeds from that auction will be donated to local charities in Washington and Pekin to support their tornado relief efforts.
"By talking to those on the ground and those agencies helping out, they have told us that the easiest and best way to get help and resources to those in need is through financial donations," Rivermen co-owner Bart Rogers said. "In times of need, it's refreshing to see so many people instantly step forward to help in the area. As soon as it's safe to assist in the clean-up, our players, coaches and staff will be on the ground side-by-side working to help get life back to normal."
Friday is also UnityPoint Health - Methodist "Puck Night." Come early, as the first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a limited edition Rivermen puck.
For tickets or more information, please visit the Rivermen office located next to the box office inside the Peoria Civic Center or call 309-676-1040.
