Hamilton, Ontario - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today the addition of free agent non-import defensive lineman Matt Kirk.
Kirk, a 6-4, 265-pound native of Kingston, Ontario has spent the last three years with the B.C. Lions, after playing one season with the Ottawa Renegades, who drafted him in the fifth round (38th overall) of the 2004 CFL Canadian Draft.
"Matt has been a steady Canadian defensive lineman throughout his career," said general manager Bob O'Billovich. "Matt's experience, character and pass rushing skills make him a quality addition to our roster."
The Queen's product has recorded 17 defensive tackles, 15 special teams tackles and one forced fumble in 72 career regular games. He captured a Grey Cup championship with the Lions in 2006.
