Amarillo ThunderHeads News Release

The Amarillo ThunderHeads picked up a pair of big wins over South Division leading Joplin on Tuesday night at Joe Becker Stadium.

The ThunderHeads won the opener, 5-4, and the nightcap, 7-5.

The first game picked up in the top of the sixth after being postponed last week due to rain in Amarillo.

The ThunderHeads - who were the designated home team in the first game - got the win thanks to a Tyler Urps walk-off ground-rule double that scored Rene Leveret in the bottom of the seventh.

Amarillo reliever Kyle Bellows worked three scoreless innings, picking up his second win. Amarillo is 25-26 overall.
