Thunderbirds Waive Two Players

Rio Rancho, NM - The New Mexico Thunderbirds have announced the release of two players from training camp: Zack Atkinson and former University of New Mexico player Jamaal Smith.

After the two releases, the Thunderbirds' preseason roster is now comprised of the following 13 players:

The Thunderbirds' training camp players will be making two appearances in the Rio Rancho area this week. On Wednesday, Nov. 17, they will be appearing at Smokehouse BBQ in Rio Rancho at 6 p.m. On Thursday, Nov. 18, the Thunderbirds will be making an appearance at Cleveland High School Hoops Night.

On Monday, Nov. 22, the Thunderbirds will be hosting their second and final preseason scrimmage and Fan Fest at the Santa Ana Star Center. Doors will open at 5 p.m. Fans in attendance will have a chance to participate in on-court games, meet Thunderbirds players and coaches as well Thunder Cat, the team's brand new mascot. There will also be the opportunity for fans to select their seats and purchase season tickets or purchase individual tickets for Opening Weekend.
