
Thunderbirds Set for Final Game of Weekend

FLORENCE, S.C. - The Twin City Thunderbirds are set for this afternoon's final game of the weekend against the Pee Dee IceCats. Today's matchup is the third game of the weekend between the two rivals. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:15pm ET.
Twin City (15-19-1) seeks a win this afternoon over Pee Dee after dropping the opening two games of the weekend. The Thunderbirds lost a 5-2 decision on Friday, and a 6-3 decision last night. Roman Kraemer (2), Jan Salak, Corey Cunningham, and Gus Ford have scored goals through the opening two games of the weekend for Twin City. The Thunderbirds enter today's game as the 5th place team in the FPHL's Continental Division standings, and are 4-6-0 over the last ten games. Twin City has netted a powerplay in each of the first two games of the weekend. The Thunderbirds are one powerplay goal away from scoring thirty powerplay goals on the 2025-2026 regular season. Scoring leaders for the Thunderbirds through the first thirty-five games played this season include Gus Ford (22), Zach White (20), and Roman Kraemer (14).
Pee Dee (15-18-3) has posted a 5-5-0 record over the last ten games following last night's three-goal victory over Twin City. Patriks Marcinkevics (2), Vadim Frolov, Houston Wilson, Nick Magill-Diaz, and Alexander Legkov scored goals for the IceCats in the 6-3 win. The IceCats have outshot the Thunderbirds by a 99-51 margin through the first two games of the weekend series. Parker Rutherford has played each game of the weekend series in net for Pee Dee. Scoring leaders for the IceCats ahead of today's final game of the weekend include Patriks Marcinkevics (27), Alexander Legkov (26), and Dominiks Marcinkevics (21).
Twin City's next home games will be played back-to-back against the Watertown Wolves on Friday, February 27th and Saturday, February 28th. Puck drop for Friday's game is set for 7:05pm ET, and Saturday's matchup will begin at 6:05pm ET.
