BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Goaltender Sebastian Dahm saved 32 of 33 shots to help the Bloomington PrairieThunder to its third straight victory with a 4-1 decision over league-leading Muskegon before 2,324 people Wednesday night in International Hockey League action at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

The victory moved the PrairieThunder record to 28-25-3-5 (64 points) and solidified its hold on the fourth and final postseason playoff spot. Muskegon dropped to 42-18-0-3 in its first loss four games on Bloomington ice.

Flint, which plays the PrairieThunder at 7:05 p.m. Friday at U.S. Cellular Coliseum, and Quad City trail Bloomington by seven points in the standings.

Brett Holmberg, who had the game-winning goal, and rookies Matt Woodard and Matt Smyth all contributed two points to the PrairieThunder effort.

Jamie Carroll scored the game's first goal with assists to Zac Pearson and Robin Gomez with nine seconds remaining in the initial period. Holmberg put the PrairieThunder ahead, 2-0, off assists by Woodard and Smyth 3:23 into the second period.

Muskegon's Michel Beausoleil cut the deficit in half with a power play goal 90 seconds later on assists by Todd Robinson and Robin Bouchard.

The PrairieThunder countered with a goal from John Snowden, who was acquired earlier in the week in a trade with Dayton, off assists by Matt Frick and Craig Macdonald with 15:21 remaining in the game.

Smyth then added the final goal on assists by Holmberg and Woodard with 3:52 left. Muskegon outshot the PrairieThunder, 33-30, and was successful on 1 of 3 power plays.

Bloomington, which was playing without seven regulars because of injuries and a call-up, was shut out on five power play attempts. The PrairieThunder had only six minutes of penalties and Muskegon 10.
